I love the artwork of Eastern European matchboxes from the 50s/60s! There's a naiveness to the flat washed out colours and grainy textures, which counterbalanced with themes of consumerism and global technological advancements create an ambivalent mood of bleakness and hope.

Hey peoples, I'll be uploading my work and ideas and influences and anything I find interesting on this blog.
Most my illustration stuff is already on deviantart so you can check that out there, but I might upload a few here now and then.


In actual news, the books I ordered from amazon.com arrived today! A lot earlier than the expected date which was Aug 5-25. Finally copies of Hand Job, Serialize, Type Addicted, and Fingerprint to call my own :) I assume everyone already had them like over a year ago, I'm so late.

I also ordered Wet Moon 3, a graphic novel by Ross Campbell, who's been an inspiration to my illustration work for quite some time now.
