A really cool interactive site I discovered a while ago is www.99rooms.com. The street art is great but I was more drawn to the ambience of the spaces and locations photographed.
It was the website that first sparked my interest in derelict buildings and ruins. There's a solemn charm about these abandoned sites; the remains seem to speak volumes about the history of the places and the people that inhabited them. Through daily usage and occupation the buildings absorb every footprint, moment and memory that have been left behind; around every corner lies an old story of the past, patiently waiting to reveal itself to whoever may stumble across it. The places can seem quite spooky and gritty, but also possess a mood of nostalgic warmth and stoic acceptance.

Another site with photos of this essence is http://photos.dobi.nu/
